BIPOLAR ARCHITECTURE // THE WORRIER - T-SHIRT
RELEASE DATE: February 19, 2027
Bipolar Architecture are a band that co-exist between Istanbul and Berlin. Known for fusing together post- metal, djent and black metal, their music has always been rooted in a tension between brutality and melody, weight and atmosphere, capturing the anxieties of modern life. Having toured with The Ocean last year, and after receiving rave reviews, their much-anticipated new album, ‘The Worrier’, sees that tension become more pronounced and more dimensional than ever. The band retains the raw, volatile energy that has defined their sound, while opening the music towards post-hardcore and metalcore, introducing a greater emphasis on melody, vocal interplay and memorable song structures that enhance their intensity.
“I wanted to choose this title because somehow it represents the general idea of the album. The struggles of life, the mental side of trying to survive; depression, anger, empathy and sympathy all together. Most of our songs are based on our life experiences. I want to present the raw feelings that we all have, trying to survive this life and to make a connection with people who feel the same.” (Sarp Keski)
At the centre of the band is guitarist and vocalist Sarp, whose approach gives the music its emotional and compositional direction. His guitar work moves fluidly between crushing heaviness, abrasive textures and delay-soaked melodies, creating songs that are simultaneously tightly controlled and ready to rupture. His vocal performance remains a fundamental source of the band's aggression, carrying the anger, frustration and desperation embedded in the album's themes. His delivery balances a howling aggression and emotional catharsis.
“The difference in this album is that we added clean vocals; our bassist Niklas and guitarist Stefanos are now contributing as singers as well as me. This new addition of clean vocals has given me so much perspective that I could not introduce to the sound before. I think it progressed the song-writing phase in a different way. I wanted to keep the whole raw and frenzy atmosphere of our sound, but to add these deep vocal layers on it along with some memorisable vocal parts that are hard to achieve with only brutal/screaming vocals.” (Sarp Keski)
Through the expansion of their roles, Bassist Niklas and guitarist Stefanos introduce a contrasting character to Sarp's harsher delivery, giving the songs a broader emotional palette. As well as contrasting the heavier material, the clean vocals become an integral part of the arrangements, creating melodies that can linger after the impact of the riffs has subsided. When the three voices converge, the contrast between Sarp's brutal vocals and the haunting hooks of clean vocals produces one of the album's defining characteristics.
“It took so long to find a sound that we like, as we are heading a bit more to the Post-Hardcore/Metalcore direction.” (Sarp Keski)
Niklas' bass provides an important foundation beneath this expanded vocal approach, reinforcing the physical weight of the songs while helping connect the guitars, vocals and rhythm section into a cohesive whole. Stefanos' guitar work adds another layer to the band's increasingly expansive arrangements, contributing to the interplay between heavier passages and the more atmospheric and melodic elements that have become central to the new material.
“I initially write all the songs, meaning guitars/bass/lead guitars/clean guitars/vocal parts, and send it to our drummer Fatih to write drums and polish them in harmony with vocals and bass.“ (Sarp Keski)
Holding everything together is drummer Fatih, whose playing supplies the kinetic force behind the band's shifting dynamics. Working from Sarp's initial compositions, he shapes the drums around the interaction of vocals, bass and guitars, giving the songs their momentum and allowing them to move naturally between tightly driven sections and explosive peaks. His signature blast beats and sharp precision create an urgency and explosive restlessness.
“Personally, I think of this album as my best yet. I’ve produced 5 studio albums (2 for my former death metal band from Turkey) and now this will be Bipolar Architecture’s 3rd. As for the band, I think it is maturer and has more layers now with the clean singing additions. The context of the songs are mostly my experience and observations through life, but I always find the balance with my band friends as we have a lot in common and share many philosophical perspectives for life. I think the songs reflect all four of us despite having different cultural backgrounds with different styles of growing up.” (Sarp Keski)
‘The Worrier’ is a record that preserves Bipolar Architecture's intensity whilst giving it greater range. Its three-way vocal interplay, layered guitars, forceful rhythm section and increasingly post-hardcore/metalcore-oriented songwriting represent a significant step forward for the band. Above all, the album sounds like four musicians pushing towards the same emotional idea, converging and balancing the hypnotic and the novel, serving both the longtime fans and giving an accessibility that will surely hook new listens.
“It is always a bit more special that our drummer Fatih lives in Istanbul... He brings a lot of energy with him. We have so many cultural exchange jokes going on, especially when you have Turks and Greeks together. Niklas and Stefanos joined the band after the recordings of the previous album Metaphyisicze. So, this one for me was kind of also a bit like rewarding their hard work, since they have been in the band. They were always full in and doing what is necessary. Now they contributed more than just playing an instrument, but also with their vocals. That made this album special for me. I can say that this album was the most collective album we have made. We made the organisation together, we recorded together and we felt the same together.“ (Sarp Keski)
