CIRCLES – THE LAST ONE

The Last One,an album of tremendous power and lyrical inventiveness, delivers on the promise made on their Basick Records debut album Infinitas(2013). With guitarist Ben Rechter assuming the role of lead vocalist and fellow band members Ted Furuhashi (guitar/backing vocals), David Hunter (drums), and Drew Patton (bass guitar/screamed vocals) providing a maelstrom of musical brutality, Circles have written and recorded a simply phenomenal album. The band’s uniquely designed off-kilter stadium-like riffs and dynamic grooves, exemplified in the track Dream Sequence, beautifully contrast with breathtaking soaring vocals and catchy hooks apparent in highlight song Tether,with new front-man Ben Rechter’s lush melodic singing styling instantly becoming a signature of Circles’ ever expanding sound.

ALITHIA - THE MOON HAS FALLEN

Recorded in Athens, Greece, The Moon has Fallen delves deep into the realm of psychedelic tribal post-prog rock. The band embraces heavy percussive grooves, new wave Blade Runner-esque synth blasts, and striking melodic vocals with an emphatic punk attitude, resulting in one of the most unique and diverse albums to ever infect your senses. The Moon has Fallen is AlithiA’s first record written entirely collectively with the inspired addition of percussionist Jeffrey Raul Ortiz Castro interlacing the album’s sound with Latin rhythms, celestial synthesizers, and distinctive secondary vocals. The band’s original foundations, however, remain intact with John Rousvanis’ inspiring lead vocals and mesmerizing guitar styling apparent throughout, none more so than the epic album opener The Sun. From the pulsating engine room of bassist Tibor Gede and drummer Mark ‘Vel’ Vella, shining on highlight track Empress, to the stirring keyboard soundscapes of Danny Constantino, which command the single Diamonds, AlithiA have emerged with a simply exceptional album.

GLASS OCEAN – THE REMNANTS OF LOSING YOURSELF IN SOMEONE ELSE

The Remnants of Losing Yourself in Someone Else draws you into the waves of vocalist Tobias Atkins’ heartfelt storytelling, which is escorted by trance-inducing heavy grooves, clouds of futuristic synth layers, and far-reaching, punchy guitars. Produced, mixed and mastered by Chris Blancato (Northlane), Glass Ocean’s new record also showcases the continued collaboration with ex-founding member Nic Pettersen (Northlane) who co-wrote album tracks Voyage, A Dream From Which I May Not Wake, Soul Slumber, Divide, Pride, and Almaida. Swaying smoothly between genres and influences, the record ushers the listener through the compelling emotions and energy of Tobias Atkins’ personal narrative and magnetising vocal performances.

'The Matter Circumvention' is the debut solo instrumental album by James Norbert Ivanyi. Written, recorded and arranged in Sydney, Australia during 2014 at James' personal home studio and released on January 16th 2015.
